The purpose of the salon is to gather in an informal setting to share basic and applied psychoanalytic principles that help you explore your interest in psychoanalysis and/or psychodynamic psychotherapy.

SALON DESCRIPTION

Description: Sadomasochism continues to be one of the most baffling topics in psychoanalysis. What do we mean when we say "sadomasochism"? Are we talking about a relational dynamic? Defense? Pathology? All the above? The confusion lingers on in our theories and by extension, in clinical practice.

By using a blend of ideas from philosophy (Sartre, Deleuze) and psychoanalysis (Laplanche), this clinical paper written in a creative style is an effort to tackle some of these confusions and raise more questions about the ways in which we’ve traditionally looked at sadomasochism and its birth.
